On Thursday, the French fashion house has issued an apology to China. The reason for it is they had not included Taiwan in the China map which they are using for the presentation. Taiwan is a small island and it is a self-ruled democracy that Beijing keeps on insisting and treated as part of the one-China program.
The apology message was posted on Dior’s verified Weibo account and in that account, it said that all this happened due to an employee’s fault. The company respects and supports China’s sovereignty and territory integrity and also said that they will soon start to investigate this matter.
The presentation was organized at the university in China.
China is said to be one of the world’s largest market for luxury goods and all Chinese shoppers make nearly a third of purchases globally. Dior is owned by LVMH and operates Louis Vuitton and Hennessy.
This company is now a recent company from Westside who made concessions so that it can do business in China’s market. All these things happened due to the issue of Taiwan. Till now nobody from company commented on the incident to the press.
